2025 SAMBA QUEEN COMPETITION
Unidos Atlanta Escola de Samba proudly presents our Rainha de Bateria (Samba Queen) Competition—a vibrant celebration of rhythm, energy, and community. Open exclusively to current students of Unidos Atlanta, this event will crown our next queen who will lead and represent the Bateria for the 2025 season with passion, grace, and dedication.

Eligibility
Requirements
To participate, each contestant must:
​
* Be a current student of Unidos Atlanta.
​
* Have attended at least 3 classes during the current semester.
​
* Agree to share the cost of Bateria t-shirts for the 2025 season. (approx. $100 - $150)
​
*Commit to attending 1-2 Bateria rehearsals per month.
​
* Be present during Juneteenth Carnaval Weekend events.
$20 Registration fee to assist with support of the Bateria refreshments.

Competition
Format
Dance Performance
​
* Each participant will dance to two tempos of live samba (batucada): one slow, one fast.
​
* Participants are encouraged to practice with varied samba rhythms in preparation.
​
Q&A Session
​
* Each participant will answer at least one question, allowing judges to learn about your passion, leadership, and dedication to samba culture.
​
Dress Code
​
Participants may wear
* Dresses
* Ropas de pinta
* School colors
​
CONTESTANTS MUST ARRIVE BY 2:45PM. NO EXCEPTIONS
